Happy Women’s History Month!

Here at Tamara’s Boutique, we wanted to take a moment to wish all the women out there a happy women’s history month! Did you know the first women’s history month began in 1857? It’s true, although Congress did not make it official until 1981, when it was first a week-long celebration. Later they turned it into a month-long celebration.

There are 157.2 million women in America, which means there are about four million more women than men in the country. In addition to it being women’s history month in America, there is another holiday that is being celebrated throughout the world in honor of women. March 8th is officially International Women’s Day.

The theme for International Women’s Day this year is Success in the Globally Integrated Enterprise. On that, did you realize that today there are nearly 8 million women-owned businesses in the country, which collectively bring in $1.2 trillion? Quite impressive!
